Beginning in late 2003, two small groups “desiring Affinity Group elder housing” were absorbed into what was later to become known as GLife Housing Coalition. In late 2005 this combined group began networking to form a broader non-profit coalition, following the decision of a “for-profit” Affinity Group Elder Housing developer “not to come to Houston at this time”.
We also found housing need for multiple affinity groups beyond LGBTQI. We began "Housing" our first Seniors, Youth & Young Adults from multiple affinity groups in early 2008. In 2009 GLife officially joined with many other Affinity Groups to form a Global Alliance which as of late 2011 has grown to more than 80+ NGO's, Trusts, Private Foundations, and others. On 1-1-12 GLife officially completed its integration into the Global Alliance, including financial. We were permitted to keep our original name, as were most Alliance members. As of late 2011 we have more than 210 people "Housed" on 11 different properties in metro-Houston. Additionally, thousands more are housed by our affiliate organizations around the world. Effective 1-1-12, GLife has past control of all it's Trust/Foundation and general accounts, excluding local Expense account for unpaid staff, to IBG control.(International agreements required this of all NGO's, Trusts, Foundations, etc., so that Construction Planning could proceed.) ALL 80+ organizations in the Global Alliance, if they are non-profit,must continue to do their individual"local/area" fundraising to cover operating expenses.
Our name "GLife Housing Coalition", (pronounced Gee-Life) was established and adopted in late 2007. GLife stands for many things, depending on the wishes of our many associated organizations around the world.
Attached is a partial list of Affinity Groups support by the Global Alliances (we are prohibited from listing some due to security concerns.) These are English Translations in some cases, and may have different names in actual Alliance NGO's around the world.

We will pursue multiple PROGRESSIVE agenda's, such as continuum of care for our membership, and GREEN building & development, while providing Housing and other services for multiple affinity groups..
IBG (International Board of Governors): We will be the central consolidation point for funds and assets of our Global Alliances. We will both manage these funds and seek to secure other funds/assets, to assure the ongoing success of our purpose. We will continue to expand the "Global Trusts/Foundation Coalition", which co-ordinates with our global partners & applicant organizations.
Regional Presidents & Advisory Councils:
We will provide the points of contact to IBG for all matters, including funding requests and applicant organizations/NGOs. All request must first be screened and approved by one of the Regional Presidents and Advisory Councils prior to submission to IBG.
